Existing versions
We are offering the BCB Shape product in several different versions:
BCB Shape LITE:
  • Reduced version with automatic calculation of profiles without accessing to generation of DXF drawing and tools accessories. It is focused to Anodizers and Powder Coating factories without Technical Office. In these cases, it is enough with measure of areas, (inner and outer) perimeters and lineal weight without using generated DXF drawing nor tool accessories for manual measurements.
BCB Shape:
  • Complete version. It is useful to anodizers and powder coating factories, with Technical Office where they work with AutoCAD, and need the generated drawings from scanned images.
BCB Shape +:
  • The complete Solution to help Extruders with an improved dimensional measure System and to make better quality in aluminium extrusion: Extrusion factories are who have the highest needs from a metrology point of view. It is essential for aluminium extrusion operations to further improve quality controls.
    This version would be specially focused for Extrusioners: For Test in Process in Production, Quality Department or Techical Offices.
BCB Shape + CALIPER:
  • Also, we offer a digital caliper, connected directly to the computer. In some cases, it is very important to know the profile dimensional quality. For this application, it is possible to analyze the sample with the caliper without any preparation.
BCB Shape PORTABLE:
  • New portable equipment for dimensional control in production line or warehouses, using a ultra-portable computer with wireless connection and a digital calliper.

bcb shape lite version

As it has been said before, this version is focused to anodizers and powder coating factories without Technical Office. In this case, they only need the measures of areas, (inner, outer and total) perimeters and lineal weight.

Functionality of this version is:

  • Automatic calculation of basic profile parameters:

    • Outer perimeter (in mm).

    • Inner perimeter(s) (in mm). Profile can have or have not inner chambers. From each one, its perimeter would be calculated.

    • Total perimeter (in mm). It is the sum of outer and inner (if it or they exist) ones.

    • Approximated area (in mm2).

    • Approximated lineal weight (in Kg/m). By default, it is supposed 2.7 Kg/dm3 as aluminium density. This value can be changed for other materials in configuration.

  • Printer generation of a report showing profile drawing and its basic measures (perimeters, areas and lineal weight). In this report, user can fill several data with administrative information (extruder name, profile reference, etc.).

  • Data Base with inspected profiles. Also, acquired images are stored, for its later visualization.

bcb shape version

This version is focused to factories with Technical Office, to work with AutoCAD. So, it is important to them, to generate a drawing from a scanned profile in 20 seconds.

Functionality of this version, added to one explained in the above point, is:

  • It is possible to measure, in a manual way, distances, angles, radius from arcs or circumferences, over the scanned profile; and assign labels to these measures and they are stored automatically in Database for its later analysis.

  • DXF drawing generation (as a set of poly-lines) from scanned profile. This file is generated in /FOTOS directory, together with scanned images (.JPG) and defined parameters (.PRO).

bcb shape+ version

Extrusion factories are who have the highest needs from a metrology point of view. This version would be specially focused to them.

Functionality of this version, added to ones explained in the two above points, are:

  • Comparation of scanned profile with a DXF pattern drawing. Software superimposes automatically the two images and shows the above (surplus material) and below (lack of material) differences between both ones, in a graphical and numerical way.

  • In profiles with revolution or mirror symmetry, it is possible to use these characteristics, superimposing the DXF drawing generated by application on scanned profile to detect all the imperfections (without having the theoretical drawing). Other option is to compare several samples from the same profile, superimposing the DXF drawing generated by one of them on the other samples.

  • Manual and automatic measurement of distances, angles and radius from arcs and circumferences, over scanned and superimposed images. It is possible to assign labels to those measurements and they are stored automatically on database for a later analysis. Automatic measurements must be previously defined over theoretical drawing using a DXF editor included in our application.

  • Multiple scanning of several samples of the same profile. It is very useful (because of increasing speed inspection) to analyze simultaneously the several outputs of an extrusion matrix.

  • Printer generation of a report showing superimposed profiles and automatic defined measures.

New “ BCB Digital Caliper Option ”

  • Your right solution at the press in a fast in – process inspection for Aluminium extrusion profile measurement.

  • No sample cut or any sample preparation is required.

  • Manual inspection Control system of the defined testing points of the geometry of the profile in a very short time.

  • Automatic comparison between prior measures definitions on the original DXF drawing within tolerances acceptance and the inspectioned sample, to obtain a final result:  if that piece is good or not; “Pass” or “Not Pass” to production.  

  • Digital Caliper connected directly to a computer RS-232 connection port.

  • Dimensional profiles measurement at the press in an easy-to use and quality profitable method.Quick recognition of deviations in production process.

bcb shape PORTABLE

New “ BCB Digital Portable ”

  • Using the same drawings in DXF format than the quality department ones used by
    BCB Shape+, it is possible to define measures to check with their respective tolerances.

  • Operator, following instructions shown in the color high-resolution screen of an ultra-portable computer, is able to check a dimensional control in an easy and quick way, in the warehouse, without any cut or sample preparation.

  • Results are shown in screen, also stored in system data base (local or remotely, using a Wi-Fi connection). A report is generated with average, maximum and minimum values, showing profiles with problems (outside tolerances).
